Abstract
This data set contains vertical profiles of ocean temperature, salinity, turbulence dissipation rates and bio-optical properties, obtained from the sea ice in the western Weddell Sea during an expedition with the research icebreaker RV Polarstern, February to April 2026. Data were obtained with a battery powered, internal recording uprising VMP250-IR (Rockland Scientific Inc., VMP hereafter), deployed at ice stations from the ship, covering depths of 80m to the sea ice interface.
