Abstract
This dataset contains raw Level 0 audio recordings from Airborne Expendable Bathy-Thermograph (AXBT) profiles acquired during the 2023-2024 International Collaborative Exploration of the Cryosphere by Airborne Profiling (ICECAP) field campaign led by the Australian Antarctic Division. A total of 43 AXBTs were deployed during the campaign. Preliminary assessment indicates that potentially realistic temperature-depth information may be recoverable from approximately 20-24 of these deployments; however, processing efforts to extract calibrated and quality-controlled profile data is ongoing. Users should note that the raw audio records from this campaign are unusually noisy. We attribute this primarily to issues associated with the AXBT acquisition antenna and/or its integration with the survey aircraft. As a result, these Level 0 files are provided as raw source data and should be interpreted with caution until higher-level processed products are available.
