Abstract
This dataset contains physical measurements of specimens of the Southern Ocean diatom Fragilariopsis kerguelensis. We used the image segmentation software SHERPA (Kloster et al., 2017) to make physical measurements of each valve including "rectangularity". F. kerguelensis rectangularity has been posited to change in response to Sea Surface Temperature, a relationship that we explore in this study by calculating SSTs using established and new valve rectangularity/SST calibrations.
